20 April 2013 - A beautiful Sunday morning saw us in the final preparation for a Satay Party at Pusat Jagaan Beribuan Kasih in Kajang. Drove down to Seremban to pick up dearest sis, Winnie and her kind contribution of sausage buns and Rainbow Agar-agar. On the way up to Kajang, stopped by Nilai again to pick up the Nasi Briyani to go with the Kajang Satay and KFC. Arrived at the Home just before noon and after unloading some household cleaning items urgently required by the Caretaker, we proceeded to lay out the food and drinks. Apart from the abovementioned treats, a good friend of ours, Dr Azma, who took time off her busy schedule to drop by, brought along with her - mouth-watering Doughnuts.

Prior to lunch, Gary and his four college mates from IUKL entertained the Kids with games. The kids were thoroughly entertained, so much so that their joy even infected those who watched them.. As for myself, the Chicken Dance was the highlight, the kids’ enjoyment in performing the dance had me moving to the beat too.

It was time to serve lunch and today I can take a backseat as Gary and his friends took over the task and made sure everyone had their fill of food and drinks.

Meanwhile, I had a chat with Kavitha and was updated on the Home's latest news, which is not good news at all. Two years ago, this premise was on the verge of being taken over by the Bank, and when Kavitha, with the help from generous relatives, friends and donors and a loan from an Uncle, managed to buy over this premise, we thought all will be well... Alas, the Uncle's daughter is now intending to sell off this premise unless Kavitha settles the whole loan. On top of that, Kavitha's adopted daughter is constantly requiring expensive hospital treatment for leukemia. The building itself is in bad shape with many repair works need to be done. But yet, Kavitha can smile through all this and tells me she places her faith in her God to help her through all this eventually.

The fate of this Home is also hanging on the line just like these clothes |
We ended our event with Lucky Draw for the kids. In order not to disappoint any of them, we made sure each kid ends up with a small gift.
A Big Thank-You to Chew for his contribution of grocery for this Home, to Jenny for her thoughtful gifts for the Kids, to Dr Azma for the delicious Doughnuts - a hard-to-come-by treats for these folks, to Eddy, Azri, Fakhrul and Aphy for their Big Help in entertaining the Kids and last but not least, to Steele, Beary, Mel and Tibol for sharing this day with us and the folks at the Home.
Soon, it was time to say farewell ... but they know we will be back, we always do cause they have endeared themselves to our hearts.
